The Heritage group sponsored match is being held at Footes Lane in Guernsey on Saturday 01 September featuring various ex internationals stars including the likes of Kenny Logan, Damien Cronin and Alan Buzza just to name a few. The Channel Island side is made up of a selection of Jersey and Guernsey players and ex players who are prepared to dig out their boots in aid of this rugby dedicated charity. Thompson Estates are sponsoring two of their sales negotiators Matt Davenport-Brown and Stewart Barrow to play for the Channel Island side. Matt, originally from Wellington in NZ has been playing in Jersey for the past 10 years. Initially with Les Quennevais Sharks and then representing the Jersey Rugby Club at both 1st XV and 2nd XV level, competing in two Siam Cups. Stewart, who’s playing days started at the tender age of 7 for Kent College, moved to De La Salle College at the age of 14 where he represented the Island. After leaving school Stewart joined the Beeches Old Boys. After a year playing in Australia he returned to the island to captain the Old Boys before joining the Jersey Rugby Club. He has played for over a 17 year span for 1st XV, 2nd XV and ultimately the Jersey Wanderers.
Both players are looking forward to this fantastic opportunity to support the Wooden Spoon Charity and play against some great names in the world of rugby.
